This program is designed to strengthen and sustain the cultural identity of our Muslim Community. Learners from other cultural groups will learn about Muslims living in New Zealand, their religion and culture. This Islamic Studies designed and taught by Ulul Albāb Islamic Institute New Zealand will teach the essentials of Islam (fardul-’ayn), so learners can have a foundational knowledge of Islam. The scriptures (Qur’an and Hadith), belief system (‘aqīdah), worshipping rituals (‘ibādah), moral system (akhlāq), Islamic Jurisprudence (fiqh), biography of Prophet Muhammad and other Prophets (sīrah), history of Islam (tārikh) and supplications & incantations (du‘ā’ wal-adhkār) all are organically blended into the syllabus for our local community of learners. In order to make learning fun, students will be prepared for Islamic Quiz, taught Islamic Songs (nashids), and prepared for oratory contests. This course is designed for everyone over the age of 12. If you are under 16 years of age, you will need to fill out a permission slip from your caregiver or join the classes with an adult. Above 16 years of age, you can enrol on your own.
