This is a hands-on, practical course where you’ll learn basic woodworking skills while creating a project of your choice. Work at your own pace with the support of an experienced tutor and access to workshop tools.

In the first session, new participants will complete a safety briefing and discuss their project ideas. Bring photos or measurements of what you’d like to build — no materials or tools are needed for the first class.

Popular beginner projects have included:
Coffee tables, bookcases, plant stands, boxes, frames, stools, chairs, beehives, and more.

Important notes:

• Students will need to purchase their own timber, nails, glue, and finishing materials. These are not included in the course fee.

• Recycled timber cannot be used, as it may damage workshop equipment.

• All tools are provided, but you’ll need to carry your project to and from the workshop each week (no on-site storage available).

This course is ideal for beginners ready to roll up their sleeves, learn new skills, and leave with a finished piece they’ve made themselves.
